Albert Einstein, Success Story

Albert Einstein | Success Story

Albert Einstein was one of the greatest scientists of the 20th century, an era dominated by science. Born in Ulm, Württemberg, Germany in 1879.

Albert Einstein, whose theories exploded and reshaped our ideas of how the universe works.

In 1905, when he was 26 years old, Einstein worked as a clerk at the Patent Office in Bern, Switzerland. In his spare time, he wrote and then submitted a series of five scientific papers to a leading German physics journal. It was during this time that the young physicist obtained his Doctorate degree and published four of his most influential research papers, including the Special Theory of Relativity.

Albert Einstein ten years later, in 1915, Einstein completed his General Theory of Relativity. This theory explains how measurements change when you travel very fast — almost as fast as light travels.

In 1921, he won the Nobel Prize for physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect.

It also launched him to international superstardom and his name became a household word synonymous with genius all over the world.

Einstein moved to the United States in the autumn of 1933 and took up residence in Princeton, New Jersey and a professorship at the prestigious Institute for Advanced Study.

Einstein is generally considered the most influential physicist of the 20th century. He died on April 18, 1955, in Princeton, New Jersey. He was 76. His funeral and cremation were intensely private affairs, and only one photographer managed to capture the events of that extraordinary day: LIFE magazine’s Ralph Morse.

Tsing Ma Bridge - One Of The Architectural Wonders

Amazing Bridge: Tsing Ma Bridge

Tsing Ma Bridge is one of the most famous and beautiful man-made landmarks in Hong Kong.

The Tsing Ma Bridge is the world’s ninth-longest span suspension bridge, and was the second longest at time of completion.

The bridge was named after two of the islands in Hong Kong, Tsing Yi and Ma Wan. It has two levels and carries both road and rail traffic, making it the largest suspension bridge carrying rail traffic in the world.

The bridge was designed by Mott MacDonald. Construction of the bridge was carried out by a joint venture of Costain, Mitsui and Trafalgar House. Construction started in May of 1992 and ended in May of 1997.

The bridge has a span of 1,377 meters (4,518 ft) and a height of 206 meters (676 ft).

The bridge is the key connection between Hong Kong and its international airport on Lantau Island.

Besides the its importance in improving the Hong Kong infrastructure, the lights on the bridge light up the night sky and help contribute to the stunning skyline of the city.

The center for visitors is the place where one can see the panoramic view of the bridge and is the most visited place by the tourists.

Tower Bridge, London

Beautiful - Tower Bridge, London

London's Tower Bridge is one of the most recognizable bridges in the world.

Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, over the River Thames.

It is close to the Tower of London, which gives it its name and has become an iconic symbol of London.

Construction started in 1886. It took 8 years, 5 major contractors and the relentless labour of 432 construction workers to build Tower Bridge.

On June 30th, 1894, the Tower bridge was opened by King Edward VII,  and his wife, The Princess of Wales.

The design of the Tower Bridge was done by Horace Jones and Wolfe Barry. Jones' engineer, Sir John Wolfe Barry, devised the idea of a bascule bridge with two towers built on piers.

Its Victorian Gothic style stems from a law that forced the designers to create a structure that would be in harmony with the nearby Tower of London.

Tower Bridge is 60 meters long with towers that rise to a height of 43 meters.

The bridge consists of two towers which are tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways which are designed to withstand the forces of the suspended sections of the bridge.

Over 40000 people use Tower Bridge every day.

The best reason for visiting the museum, though, is to get upon the tower top walkway – with splendid views across the River Thames.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of Australia’s most well known

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of Australia’s most well known and photographed landmarks.

It is the world’s largest (but not the longest) steel arch bridge with the top of the bridge standing 134 meters (440 feet) above Sydney Harbour.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge, also affectionately known as the 'Coathanger', was opened on March 19th 1932 by Premier Jack Lang, after six years of construction.

The total cost of the Bridge was approximately 6.25 million Australian pounds ($A13.5 million), and was eventually paid off in 1988.

The contractors, under Director of Construction, Lawrence Ennis, set up two workshops at Milsons Point on the North Shore. Here, the steel (79% imported from England, 21% from Australian sources) was fabricated into girders etc.

the bridge was designed and built by British firm Dorman Long and Co Ltd of Middlesbrough. Because the steel expands or contracts depending on whether it is hot or cold the bridge is not completely stationary and can rise or fall up to 18 cm (7.1 inch).

The Harbour Bridge is an essential artery feeding traffic to and from Sydney. Below our traffic statistics and facts and figures.
